1960 Ford P30 Parcel Delivery Van

Possibly the most customized step van or “bread van” as they are commonly called on the planet, this 1960 Ford Parcel Delivery was built to be the calling card and work horse for Centerforce clutches. From its low stance to its custom paint, this van turns heads and is perfectly at home at any car show. Dubbed the Centerforce Express, this van has been featured at the SEMA show in both 2016 and 2017.

Make no mistake, other than the body there is very little that’s original about this custom build. The van sits on a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 2WD chassis, which also provided most of the drivetrain and front suspension. The van has plenty of grunt thanks to a heavily built 24-valve Cummins 5.9L diesel engine, which features a host of power-enhancing components, including compound turbos, a cam, larger injectors, and much more. Power is routed through a G56 six-speed manual transmission with a Centerforce Diesel Twin clutch to the stock 1-ton Dodge rearend. Suspension consists of air bags at all four corners that can each be controlled with the push of a button on the dash-mounted controller to raise the vehicle or “dump” it and lay frame. The front suspension is stock A-arms while the rear is a custom four-link with a panhard bar. The chassis has been extensively modified to fit the van body and is equipped with a trailer hitch. Braking is handled by Baer disc brakes at all four corners with a hydroboost brake booster.

The driver seat features air suspension, and the seating position is very comfortable thanks to a Flaming River tilt column and a full complement of Wilwood pedals. Instrumentation is handled by a Dakota Digital dash, while a supplemental Edge monitor keeps additional tabs on the engine. Interior appointments continue with seating for four people in addition to the driver via custom-stitched leather seating. The van also includes an enormous sound system with a host of Arc Audio amplifiers and speakers all controlled by a Kenwood head unit. Two removable exterior speakers are included for enjoying your favorite music while stopped. The vehicle also has a very large cloth sunroof that can be opened on nice days, though leaks have been noted during inclement weather while closed. Further interior appointments include wood flooring, custom lighting and complete interior panels that carry the exterior theme and colors to the interior. The rear portion of the van is accessed via a fold-down ramp and has a large cargo area with tie downs. The sliding passenger door and the driver window are controlled via linear actuators.

The van runs and drives very well and is quite comfortable at highway speeds, so it is capable of long-distance travel. As with any highly custom build, it does have a number of small glitches. The parking brake is not currently functioning. The handheld remote control for the passenger entry door is also not functioning, though there are interior and exterior buttons to control the door that are functional. There are a small number of minor scuffs in the paint, and it should be noted that the exterior decals are removable. There are a small handful of other minor complaints, but overall the vehicle functions and operates quite well. With a small number of changes this vehicle would be an ideal image or show vehicle for a business or an individual that just wants to stand out in the crowd at a local car show or sporting event.

The vehicle has a clean, clear title and is sold as-is, where is in Prescott, Arizona.
